The Pastor

I'm Bob Elliott, Pastor of the Gower Christian Chruch. Our shared ministry spans almost thirty years and during that time we have become truly a family in Christ sharing times of celebration and joy, as well as times of trouble, heartache and sorrow. But through it all we have remained steadfast in the Lord and been led by Him.

This congregation is the only one I've served after completing my seminary education. It has been a wonderful experience in ministry to work in the setting of a small community (Gower has a population of around 1400), and yet have the advantages of a large city with St. Josepth only being 15 miles away and downtown Kansas City only 35 minutes away.

Through the years have continued to grow in Christ, in times of study, worship, fellowship, in ecumenical endeavors and in mission projects. Our facilities have also expanded by adding to our worship space and making it handicapped accessible. A building expansion is in the planning stages that would add a large multifunctional space, kitchen and classrooms. This project had been years in the planning.

I have been blessed with a jovial gathering of Christians. Our times of worship and fellowship are spiced with laughter and caring. My life has been touched and blessed by a host of saints who have gone on to their heavenly reward but will not be forgotten.
